SUITABLE ALL LEVEL & EXPERIENCED
SUITABLE ALL LEVEL & EXPERIENCED
Designed for swimmers who want to assess their physical capacity and physiological response to training, with testing tailored to the demands of swimming performance.
SUITABLE FOR ALL LEVEL & EXPERIENCED
Who is this for?
Swimmers who want to understand their current physical capacity, identify areas for improvement and support their swimming performance.
Suitable for recreational swimmers, competitive swimmers and athletes who train regularly in the pool.
Why you may need it
Swimming performance requires more than cardiovascular fitness. Strength, power and the ability to control movement through the upper and lower body all contribute to efficient swimming.
Muscle weakness, imbalance and left-right asymmetry may affect movement quality and force production during swimming.
This assessment provides objective data to help swimmers understand their physical strengths and limitations and make more informed decisions about strength and conditioning.
What happens
A certified exercise physiologist will conduct the assessment based on your condition. After the assessment, wait about 5-10 mins, exercise physiologist will explain the result and give recommendation. You will receive your assessment data and summary within 24 hours after test.
What is included
Lower-Limb Muscle & Shoulder Strength
Muscle Power
Shoulder & Hip Function
Left-Right Asymmetry
Muscle Imbalance
Movement & Functional Control
Compensatory Movement Patterns
Approximate duration
45 minutes including testing + consultation
How to prepare
Avoid intense exercise 24 hours before.
Wear comfortable clothing and cover shoes / sport shoes.
Who is this for?
Experienced swimmers who train regularly and want to understand their physiological response to increasing swimming intensity.
Suitable for competitive swimmers and experienced recreational swimmers preparing for races or looking to optimize their training and pacing.
Why you may need it
Swimming requires athletes to sustain specific intensities over different race distances while managing fatigue and energy demands.
Lactate threshold testing helps identify the intensity at which blood lactate begins to accumulate more rapidly, providing individualized information for training intensity and race pacing.
The results can help experienced swimmers establish more precise training zones and make informed decisions about endurance training and race preparation.
What happens
Baseline measurement: Your basic measurements, including heart rate and other relevant baseline information, will be recorded before testing.
Warm Up: You will complete your normal routine of low intensity warm up to prepare your body for the test.
Incremental Test: You will complete a series of swimming stages at progressively increasing intensities. At every stages, a small blood sample will be taken to measure your blood lactate concentration. By analysing how lactate changes as swimming intensity increases, we can identify your Lactate Thresholds (LT1 & LT2) and establish individualized swimming training intensities and pacing recommendations.
Consultation: You will be coming another day for consultation. The exercise physiologist will explain your lactate profile, LT1, LT2 and individualized training zones (swimming pace), and discuss how you can apply the results to your swimming training and race pacing.
Report: You will receive your PDF report within 24 hours after the testing session.
